"You need to have the jobs that feed your belly, but equally important are the jobs that feed your soul."

I had an instructor at the Art Institute that harped on this from day one. It was probably the most important thing I took from my time there. Without personal projects and volunteering for awesome organizations like Make A Wish and Habitat for Humanity, creative stagnation and burnout are inevitable.

I started my career working with bands. That's actually where the name for the business came from (remind me to tell you that story). Musicians and music are still a huge part of what drives me and where I find inspiration.

I hope you enjoy.

Instrumental Figure Study

This is an excerpt of a project I've been working on for a number of years. When I first conceptualized it, I was going to photograph it using my Mamiya C330 (medium format film camera). Hence, square format B&W. I hadn't shot film in a number of years prior and was pretty disappointed by my negatives. Luckily I was using my digital to figure out the look of the image so I was able to take those "working frames" and turn them into prints that I absolutely love.

Travel

I've had the good fortune to be able to travel to a number of far flung locals. Obviously my camera comes with, even on personal trips. And I try to make the most of my opportunity to make interesting frames.
